Laos Golf Gallery

Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. It has a thickly forested landscape under which the land consists mainly of rugged mountains. The tropical climate is characterised by monsoon and dry seasons. Almost a quarter of the country’s land has been set aside as conservation areas which may be developed in the future into National Parks. Officially called Lao People's Democratic Republic, the people of Laos celebrate many festivals throughout the year and the country is well known for its population of elephants, it’s slow pace and relaxed and friendly people. Golf in Asia is on the increase and there are four golf courses in Laos that we know about. Perhaps the best of the two 18-hole layouts is billed as the most picturesque golf course in Laos and the 6,503-metre course is located at the Dansavanh Nam Ngum Resort, which is perhaps more famous for its casino. The other 18-holer is the Youth Garden Golf Course and the two 9-hole layouts are at the Vientiane Golf Club (designed by RTJ Jnr) and at Santisuk Lang Xang Golf Club. We’ll keep a close eye on golf in Laos and let you know what develops in the future.
