There are several good restaurants along the main street of Luang Prabang, where you can enjoy traditional Laos food and a variety of Asian and Western cuisines. There are a number of unique and interesting dishes local to Luang Prabang that you may wish to sample on your visit.

Try some of the famous dishes from Luang Prabang like 'Sai Gok Luang Prabang' (Luang Prabang Sausage) with 'Khao Neo' (sticky rice) or some of the local specialties like 'Jaew bawng' (chilli paste with dried buffalo skin), ‘aw lam' (spicy herb soup), and something similar to Japanese seaweed called ‘Khai paen' (Fried dried river moss topped with sesame seeds).

These dishes and many more are available in most of the restaurants in Luang Prabang. Most restaurants have menus in English. For those with more delicate palettes there are also numerous French and Italian restaurants dotted throughout town as well as numerous bakeries.
